The key objective of the specification is to provide Survey Enhanced "As Constructed" digital data of drainage and/or telecommunication conduit information in a GIS ready format to the D-Spec consortium.
D-Spec outlines the specifications for digital files containing drainage pipe, pit, property connections, underground conduits and design boundary extents to be provided to the D-SPEC consortium members.
D-Spec Specification Version 6.0 (Published 1 September 2008) is now available for download.

Please Note: You must Register in order to receive notification of Specification updates (participating Council's will expect data be delivered to the current/latest version of the Specification).
06/02/2006 The consortium has been made aware that ESRI Shape files truncate Field Name lengths to 10 characters; this of course creates difficulties for the recipient of D-Spec data to differentiate between Fields such as 'Prop_Outlet_Easting' and 'Prop_Outlet_Northing'. Considering that ESRI Shapefile is a preference for 3 councils in the consortium and possibly more in the future, the consortium had decided to set the abbreviations so that they are standard and to cater for this 10 character constraint. These changes have been temporarily documented in the following file until a new version of the specification is ratified by the Executive Committee.
01/06/2007 Sample data in MapInfo Mif/Mid format and ESRI shapefile data is now available for download. We would appreciate any feedback you regarding this SAMPLE data.
